Photographing your Bokeh

Thanks Dan, for posting a fine picture of my hero:

Keith Richards and I differ by just one month in age. I first saw him when I was 20 years old. He was in a beaten up Bedford van with the rest of the Stones. I was in line to see the show at a local dance hall - they didn't know where to unload their stuff.

Seen him many times since then, and I am half way through his autobiography.

Regards

Keith
Keith, your welcome, but Michiel deserves all the credit, all I did was remove the Fuchsia and bring the image into focus and KR appeared! :D

. . . . . great to hear that you have had the opportunity to see Keith on several occasions. Only got to see the stones once, and my seat was far, far away from the stage. From my vantage point that evening, and I believe I was pretty lit up that night, it could have been a cover band and I wouldn't have know the difference!

Michiel, the two shots from the flea market are wonderful! Great color and bokeh produced with the Konica Hexanon 40/1.8!

Klaus, the shot with the rings is intriguing! How did you create the shot?

. . . . . thank you Keith, Michiel, & Leica for your kind words! Feedback is appreciated.

I am having fun with the 25/0.95 combined with the GF1 but still need to take a lot more photographs before I begin to feel comfortable shooting with this lens wide open. . . . . . narrow DOF!

So many excellent bokehgraphs in this topic.
I feared that the "end of summer" would mean a decrease in frequency of bokehgraphs.
I'm glad this isn't the case :thumbs::thumbs:

Another new lens has found it's way to my home.
Bought together with a goodlooking "Moscow 1980" Olympics ZENIT camera, for 25 Euro :D

So, it's time to update my FLAD :D

Your absolutely right Michiel ~ Poetry Rocks!

Does your father have any work that has been published in English? Would love to read some of his work.

Here is a book with poems in English you can buy at Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Formentera-Ga...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1289927382&sr=1-1

Here is one of his poems:

Light at Sea

in regard to that
single light at sea
a ship
all stars are standing still
unless they're falling

deluded by the light
of the single star already
fallen for ages and still
visible
to the naked eye

seeing what's not there
because it is still there

so too is man falling
in a blink of the eyes
into eternity

Greetings, Michiel

Hi Michiel,
It is a lovely poem by your father, Bert Schierbeek. Have you visited Suzhou in your travels to the Orient? The day I visited Suzhou a few years ago with a friend from Shanghai, it rained a bit and it brought out the brilliant colors of all the beautiful trees and flowers around the lake there. The view of Suzhou from a pagoda built in the 12th century was unforgettable. The architectural beauty of the pagoda itself fascinated me as well. Thanks for sharing one of your father's lovely poems. Best, :)

Michiel
thanks for your comment, Michiel !!

Unbelievable but true, Michiel, they are in my garden.
In fact, those are miniature roses, the same ones that I shot in springtime with the sinar (sooooo many posts ago )
They go almost all year long, I have even made pictures of them with snow on the flowers ...

The Helios is a nice lens, that you can find for not a lot of money, Michiel !

Rafael

Thanks Michiel for the link and for the poem.

I ordered the book from Amazon and look forward to its arrival. They stated one left in inventory and 5 to 8 days for shipping.

Rafael, wonderful roses! I found a couple myself on Sunday while out for a walk on a rainy day!

Gosh - its tough to keep up with the superb images flowing in:

Dan - "Japanese Maple" is stunning. You've convinced me that I have to have this lens. Your "shuttle bus tree" is almost a 100% bokehgraph - you are moving further toward the edge  Let's see one where nothing is in focus?

Klaus - "Wilting" shows up the incredible performance of Kinoptik. I love it

Raf - Your rose picture is so minimalist and delicate - it is wonderful how focus on out-of-focus create such lovely pictures.

Congrats to everyone

Keith

. . . . . Keith, thanks for your kind words regarding the Japanese Maple Bokehgraph!

I may have jumped over the edge with this one but you did say, "Let's see one where nothing is in focus?"
