The hacked Nikkor 10.5cm f2.5, "Reformulated". Final calibration, good close-up to infinity RF coupled.

Used a 100mm Plano-Convex single element lens to replace the missing original, held in place using a rear retaining ring from a Jupiter-3. 1mm Copper wire used as a rear shim.

And now for the Halloween Mad Experiment.

More Dead lenses arise from the parts bin.

Nikkor-O 55mm F1.2 O-Scope lens, missing rear elements.

With the rear Section of a Leica 5cm F1.5 Summarit that was missing the front element, and much of the mechanism. Dremel required to hack the aperture off the rear module of the Summarit.

Wide-Open at F1.2 on the EP2.

The focal length is "about 50mm", and I could make it longer to match the Leica standard. Right now the "helical" is the long 39mm thread mount on the Leica adapter on the EP2. Would be easy to make a Cam or to mount in a Helical. Image circle covers a 35mm frame.

Field Curvature is very high, I will probably move the rear module out a bit.

Unless someone wants to remake the X-Files. I can rent this lens out...

another with the Hybrid Nikkor-O/Summarit, moved the rear section out 3mm, wide-open at F1.2. Focal length is closer to 55mm...

Field curvature is a bit high, but the good side- Lots of DOF at F1.2!

Nice ones Brian! That surgery seems to have worked out well!
[could you please repair the broken flickr links above of the Canikon?)

The "Canikon" 50/1.5, made from the front section of a Canon 50/1.5 and the rear triplet of a Nikkor 5cm F1.4. Focal length set by using the original shim for the lens, and moving the rear section in for the focus to agree with the RF from 1m to infinity. The Nikkor fixture was a smaller diameter than the Canon thread, so I wrapped it in copper tape to screw into place and then used JB Weld to cement in place. Original attempt to use a shim resulted in the aperture mechanism jamming up.

Wide-open at F1.5

At F4, calms down.

F1.5 again,

Back to F4- after all fixed the aperture for a reason!
