G1 with American made lenses

What I'm wondering is not how to adapt them, but what drew you to using these lenses instead of lenses from still cameras by other manufacturers. In other words, what do you like about these lenses more than other lenses?
Old classic lens like old classic car ,has its own characters in which the computer made modern lens and car are lacking of these "taste". Not every one's cup of tea though.

Hakkalo, I just love the results you get from your Trioplan. I have the 100/2.8 Trioplan in M42 mount and it's a very interesting lens.

Cheers!

E-P1 with American made lenses

Elgeet 12mm, f/1.2. I'm not sure how I feel about this lens yet. Its not love at first sight for me, but I'm collecting other c-mount lenses in the 12~13mm range. Oh, this is with the E-P1, not the G1.

Thank-you, Hakkalo. This f1.2/12mm Elgeet that I wasn't so sure about has just won a reprieve this morning: when it arrived a couple of weeks ago, it would not focus to infinity at all, only macro. So, I took it apart and found I could make it "focus" to infinity by unscrewing the back rear element about 1.75 turns away from fully tight. So it kind of worked after that, in a somewhat arty Lens-Babyish kind of way (for example, my picture above). By no means sharp, and I knew my "fix" wasn't really the right approach at all.

Today, I realised I could take the screws off the focus ring - meaning that the ring turns continuously with no stops at either end of the focus range. I re-tightened that rear element I'd previously loosened... and voilá, now I can achieve good focus and it's become a much sharper lens (in the centre). Apart from infinity, I can also get close focus of just a couple of centimetres - probably a greater range than the lens was originally designed for!

Probably, someone had modified position of the focus ring so they could specialise in macros previously, and it just got sold to me like that. Here are a couple taken after my tinkering.

The picture of kitchen implements was cropped. The detail of the Balinese painting was not cropped (but it was shot in square mode on my E-P1, so really it has been cropped in-camera). I'll post a picture of the lens within the next couple of hours.
