Flash/hot shoe question

So I'm looking to buy a TTL flash for my GH1 (probably a Metz 48) so I can bypass the 1/160 flash sync limit in HSS mode, but I'm wondering if there's a way to do that and still have the ability to trigger a non-TTL flash remotely for fill light, etc. (my Vivitar 285HV) without running into the sync issue. Has anyone done something like this? Am I stuck doing one or the other? I'm hoping something like a hot shoe adapter with a PC sync chord to my Metz 48 would preserve the HSS functionality, while another remote trigger on top of the adapter would allow me to trigger other flash units.
