EDIT: fixed the Flickr problems. Looks like their new interface ain't working. Anyway, back to this:

Here's the test results (GH1+20/1.7 @ISO3200 f/5.6 @1/50s; 100% crop). Not sure what to make of the results. I'm looking at the first and last shots to compare, and it kinda looks like less banding, but I don't know if I'm seeing things. Definitely looks like after 48 hours of the sensor being constantly on in movie mode the sensor got warm and noisy (to be expected). Let me know what you guys see.

Time: 0 hours (start of test):

Time: 24 hours (middle of test):

Time: 48 hours (end of test):

Time: 50 hours (after cool-down period):

Hi

Interesting to see how this thread has developed and still watching it with interest

Anyway, whilst very happy with the sharpness and res I am finding the AWB a problem. With FD lenses in particular the images are looking washed out, I have read that you can adjust the AWB to create AWB+, I wondered how many users are doing this and if anyone else is using an alternative method of fixing white balance. I am not keen on carrying a grey card everywhere I go.

Thanks Jerry that looks like a good idea. What do they mean when they say take a reading towards the light source. Does that mean into the sun?

There are two approaches, both work for me, so you can experiment too:
- light source, so - sky, window, lamp, etc.
- frame content itself

If it is "washed out" that would indicate low contrast to me. What has WB got to do with?

Use an appropriately sized hood (factoring in the crop factor), avoid pointing the lens at light sources or use contrasty lenses.
