Re: the Boston shot - that's near Flour bakery isn't it? I visited for work about a year ago - I loved the cream filled doughnut there. You could almost say it's THE "Boston Cream" doughnut! :)

Here's my first try at a panorama, shot from my office window in Toronto. I only had my 20mm and the new tower being built is right across the street. I used the panorama technique to form a wide angle image.

One lesson learned - pay close attention to metering when starting the panorama. I started with too much of the sky in the shot, so the image is a bit underexposed overall.

mjohston: great first try. BTW, I incorrectly stated I was using the 45/2.8 for my Panorama but like you I was using the 20/1.7 which is a fantastic lens for such work, given its incredible sharpness stopped down.

Mackinaw river at Mackinaw, Il. River is low this year. Last year water would have been over my head from where I was standing.

45-200 at 72mm f8 ISO 100, 1/100. Six stitches in CS5.

Here's the Zuiko 35-70mm f/3.6 on a GH1 doing just a little single row x7 of a quiet little suburb on the outskirts of Nagoya, Japan:

This represents about 100 ~ 110 degrees of view and was shot at 35mm, ISO100, 5s shutter, at around f/8.

Here's a 22-image 197 megapixel scale done with the Nikkor-H 28/3.5 at varius stutter speeds from 1/20s to 1/60s - all hand-held.

I forget the scaling on this but it's like 6% or 8% or something crazy. No PP other than the scaling and the assembly of course. The assembly was done by AutoPanoGiga and all I did was point the app to the folder that contained the images. Everything else was automagically done for me. Some minutes later it spit out at 16bpp TIF. Oh, I had to crop the black edge trim off. :D

This probably represents around 140˚ vertical by 85˚ horizontal for the view-angle. What is that, like an 8mm lens or something? Who here know math? :D

Here's a po' man's panorama that I grabbed from two quick handheld shots. Taken in Geneva. G1 with kit lens. Processed in Photoshop CS4.

Every year, during our Christmas Market, one local guy sets up a huge Christmas Stable decoration in the Entrance Hall of our City Hall.
He's been working on that setup for 11 years now, adding a few pieces every year.
Going in early, I managed to shoot a (partial) panoramic overview for you.
Couldn't do it completely, the place is too crowded to shoot quietly.

Still, here's a 6 vertical shot stitch from this year's setup.

Shot with G1 and 24/2.0 Nikkor lens, stitched with Panorama Factory V5 in automatic mode.
The program came out with a good stitch at the first trial.

Have a nice evening,
Rafael

Hi Tesselator,
This is a terrific panorama from a wonderful vantage point. I especially like the clear imagery and nice colors! Best regards, :)
