Cant load videos to my Mac from GH1

Looking for some direction. I am not able to load videos I took today using my GH1 to my Mac or iPad. I recently upgraded the GH1 to the latest firmware. Not sure how I should have the folders organized on the SD card either and whether the way the folders are organized affects the ability to transfer files. I can view the videos from the camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Your SD card should have a structure:

/PRIVATE/AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM

2. In STREAM are MTS files

3. On Mac you need to convert them to .MOV (can be tricky)

I think you can play those files on a Mac via VLC Media player (as it supports H.264 video and AC3 audio directly without DirectShow filters)

Try VLC and you will be happy.

I had always problems with GH1 files.

The latest version of VLC plays the mts files perfectly.

iMovie 9 or Final Cut Pro/Express can read the AVCHD .MTS files on Apple Intel-based systems. So can VLC.

Good news. The new version 1.1.3 worked fine. I used 1.0.3 when the GH1 came out and it was bad.
