Oh My, Oh My.

First of all a BIG thank you to Brian at Red Dot Cameras in London for giving me such a fantastic deal on this immaculate lens.

Anozher Deutche lens on zhe Japanese camera. Does it know how to speak Deutsch at all?

Looks nice, but I think I stay with my Zeisses and Zuikos. I'm not sure if lenses without a Z in the beginning can be trusted (except Nikkor, but just tilt the N over and it becomes a Z too :) ).

Jono, That is quite a looker! One of these days, you should try the real macro lenses from Leica- the Milars, the Summars and the Photars. ;)

Those are not puddings, Jono. A pudding is a soft substance that... ok, ok, they look absolutely stellar. I'm just envious and it's almost four in the morning here. I'm not sure if I should go to bed or have breakfast. I think breakfast. Pumpernickel with Roquefort and then toast with Seville orange marmalade, all accompanied by Oolong tea with raw, unrefined cane sugar and the tiniest slice of lime :p

Sounds good, but I'd prefer Longjing tea :)
can you get Roquefort?

Yes, no problem. There's a supermarket chain here, Big-C, that has French origins (Groupe Casino), and they sell all the "real" stuff in their Big-C Xtra stores. They even have their own branded items which are quite reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I have only a somewhat bleak Danish copy in my fridge right now, which is what the local supermarket sells.

As for the tea, there's Oolong tea grown in Thailand that tastes so good that people travel from China to buy it, or so they told me. It's grown by Chinese refugees who arrived here in 1948 (yes, that's nineteenfortyeight) in a little village called Ban Rak Thai in Mae Hong Son province on the border towards Myanmar. Since they have still not been granted Thai citizenship, they can't travel much and mostly stay in their village, growing and drinking tea, mostly Oolong and Jasmine.

Great results from this little jewel and it seems a good fit to this camera, whose name we shouldn't mention, with the free grip.

Kind regards.

Oh Bart - just buy the damned camera and shell out the (modest) fee for the grip.

You know it makes sense!

Jono, so you like the grip? I have the EM5, but so far manage without the grip, even with a heavier lens as the 14-140.

@ monza, jorgen, and jono: I am enjoying the OM-D, but still want to decide between it and the NEX-7.... so yes, please!

I can say Leica R 60mm lens perform better(sharpness, contrast, etc) than Leica 45mm 2.8 macro, I tried on GH2 and OM-D, although I prefer 45mm bokeh
Obviously you need a tube to get 1:1 macro magnification and you lose OIS and AF

Zeiss 50mm makro planar is very close from f4, f2.8 go for the Zeiss

Hi there
a couple more from today converted with silver efex pro2

What Fun!
Looking good in b/w and I like the different shapes of the bracken's new leaves unrolling.
But regarding the fun factor: shouldn't we better start a thread like <Lots of Fun with R2µ43> so others (hopefully) might join in as well ?
I, for one, have a nice R-to-m43 adapter and some wonderful R-glass ... :p

All the very best.
