A wonderful day for a hike today, walked from below Kinder Reservoir all the way up and around the Kinder Scout plateau... unfortunately, the Kinder downfall was dry.

Re: Fun with 4/3rds cameras/ Image Thread

    U District - Seattle

    GF1 with Leitz (Canada) Elmarit 135mm f2.8 -- ISO 100 -- f/2.8 -- 1/1000 -- 135mm

    . . . . . test shot of a Leitz (Canada) Elmarit 135mm f2.8 (m mount adaptor) on the GF1 outside of Jim's Camera in the U District.

I like the lens, focus was smooth, the color produced was very good and I like the images it produced. The down side, it weighs quite a bit and with the viewfinder permanently attached to the lens it gave a unique look to the GF1.

    I recently picked up a Leica - Ernst Leitz Wetzlar - Hector 135mm f/4.5 (1960 era) and I don't need two 135mm lens. Nice to have choices . . . . . pass on it for today. . . . .

    Having fun with the GF1!

    Life is Grand!

Nice shot Brian! Perhaps send the photo along to apple, possible they would like it as a marketing photo-op, like the old timex watch ads, "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking."

Last week I met this wonderfull young guy from Brazil using a Nikon while photographing in the streets of Amsterdam. He recognized the drive of the photographer while I was photographing the second photo shown here, and started talking to me and we decided to make a portrait of each other.
This was shot with the G1 and a Cosinon 50/1.8 lens a few days ago for the LAD projekt in the Bokeh thread.

    Hi Michiel,

Thanks so much for your kind comments. I recently acquired a Contax/Yashica lens to Nikon Mount adapter. Surprisingly, the results have been quite pleasing. By the way, your portrait of a fellow from Brazil is very nice. Best, Leica 77.

Indeed, they are happy and love their lives. But I have to admit, that Miss MoneyPenny (the left one) was slightly annoyed about not seeing what was going on around her while JP McEnroe (to the right) had perfect view. *grins*

Leica - I love the atmosphere of this image, created by the B & W processing and the beautiful tones. Except for the content you could this is taken and processed in the fifties

    Hi Keith,
Many thanks for your kind comments. Star Ferries of Hong Kong seem to be timeless as well. They have not changed much since I first visited Hong Kong many years ago. New sky scrapers are still going up on both sides of the Hong Kong Harbor. Best regards, Leica 77.

    Hi Carl,
It is great to hear from you. You must be enjoying the use of your Contax G lenses. For my recent travel to Indonesia, I had to limit the number of lenses to take with me as I was traveling to some remote villages. The only manual focus lens I took was a Contax Makro Planar. Others were all compact AF lenses. Best regards, Leica 77.

Here's some I took the other day with my Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 lens. I'm very happy with it so far - nice bokeh, usable range, decent macro functionality.

    Panasonic GH1 + Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 @ 210mm; f/11; 1/320s @ ISO 400

    Panasonic GH1 + Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 @ ~180mm; f/5.6; 1/160s @ ISO 400

Dan: Great shots of Deception Pass. Haven't been there in a couple of years, you just reminded me I have to get back there soon.

Leica77: The Indonesia shots are beautiful, I especially like the flower in the foreground with the girl in the bokeh.

Carl: The Ithica Falls IR picture just took my breath away. Yeah!
