So this GH2 is really singing for me. I think that the new sensor really makes a difference. The 14-45 kit lens is really very good, as is the 100-300.

Three with the 100-300. Two of these will end up as posts on my daily photo blog.

One more with the 14-45. As I sorted through my gear locker I realized that some time ago I had purchased an Olympus flash because it's compatible with my Leica. Well guess what - it works perfectly with the GH2. So here I am experimenting with on-camera flash and landscape. This will be yesterday's post on my blog.

    Very nice rural landscape, Woody.

Just back from a short trip to Saigon. Here's one taken from the 49th floor of some tower a financial institution has erected near the river. Still mostly an empty shell, but I guess they'll fill it up somehow. Nice view to the rather ancient Russian hydrofoil boats going up and down Saigon River to the resort town of Vung Tau down at the coast.

Very good Michiel. But it's "L'Opéra" with "e acute", not "e grave" (not the same sound).

Re: Fun with 4/3rds cameras/ Image Thread

    Thanks everyone.
I went out today with the 7D and 24-105 instead and must say I really prefer my prime kit. With zooms I always find myself at one end or the other of the focal range. On this trip I brought my 7D with 24-105 and 50 f/1.4 and my E-P1 with 20mm. Realizing now I should have brought my Canon Serenar 85mm f/2.0 for the E-P1. Definitely my favorite for inconspicuous street portraits.

    Michiel,
No reflection. Just a half second exposure with a moving train and man turning while holding his baby.

Tesselator... that fellow is QUITE the character! Remarkable image.

Devon... great slice of life... I too am rarely around crowds of people and would find that to be something of a slice of life photo bonanza. I like the composition, colors, expressions and especially that fellow checkin' you out!

Karl... wow... that sculpture is in such hideous contrast to the gorgeous (made ever more so by your color rendition of the scene and people vs. the sculpture), classic architecture that's behind it. You've done a great job of accentuating the clash of style and culture. Too bad the town fathers couldn't just leave well enough alone. Some art and some architecture just don't mix well together, do they. ;-)

Tesselator... great crispness on the stump and awesome bokeh. The Canon FDn 50/1.4 is one of my very favorite legacy lenses.

Re: Fun with 4/3rds cameras/ Image Thread

I can understand why! It's sharp, very light-weight, it seems very colorful, the aperture ring offers quarter stops, the focus ring is extremely smooth, close focusing to just a tad over a foot, and it seems to offer that pop thing that so many people like. And at $120 ~ $180 it's easily had too. Bokeh I dunno yet but if the S.S.C. version is about the same as I assume it would be, then it's generally pretty good for a fifty IMO.

Peter... nice! That image shows that the Voigtlander 25 isn't just about micro thin depth of focus and uber blur backgrounds... that's a really crisp, highly defined, deep focus scenic! Impressive.
