No, no.... no more girls. There are too many of them here, and in the long run, they are even more expensive than lenses

Coming to think of it, some may claim that I have too many lenses as well. I don't know what is the worst

Very nice, Michiel. I particularly like the last one, with the boat perfectly arranged between the houses.

Here is my first image from my 12mm lens which I picked up today after work...

Darling Harbour o12-1600 by peterb666, on Flickr

I didn't have a tripod with me so this was taken at ISO1600, f/4.5 and with a base exposure of 1/25s. The shot is a fairly simple HDR treatment of 3 images with minimal post-processing.

Re: Fun with 4/3rds cameras/ Image Thread

Black & white would be better for this one, I think.
A stainless steel picture, far to blue/purple for my taste.
You need more time with this lens.
It is certainly on my wishlist.

    @ Peter
When I look at my comment again it does look patronising. I am sorry for that, I didn't mean to.

I know and I am sure you can take wonderfull photographs with this lens.
It is just I am so curious about this lens that I was a little shocked by the colours produced in that photo.

Hope to see some more results from that lens. I am just a jealous quy
    I want that lens too.

    All the best, Michiel

There's been much talk about how the GF1 is now out-dated but as long as I keep getting results like this, I've no reason to upgrade.

    All images using the GF1 + 14mm f/2.5.

Thanks, Rich. These were post-processed in LR3 + SEP2 with some judicious application of a red filter. That said, the OOC B&W jpegs are very nice indeed if you increase the contrast a smidge.

Thank you Rich. The rest of the story is about life behind the shiny and colourful tourist facades. Unfortunately, the sun doesn't shine as brightly there as it does on the tourists.

I had pretty much shelved the m4/3 gear this past year in favor of the K-5. However, this latest round of introductions intrigued me. Here are a few I shot today.

Cool shots... Man, that last one is a thing of beauty! Don't you wish they made cars like that today? I mean they do of course; my Quattroporte S has pretty nice interior lux to it but that's kind of a speciality item. If I'm not mistaken the above image depicts (fairly) mainstream styling at the time. Of course the "economy car" hadn't really come along yet and ruined things. Those dang Japanese! Grrr...

Lovely, Jorgen! I like the slight tilt and the raised foot .. it gives the image of this little one some dynamics. And, as expected, the Contax/Yashica Zeiss 85mm lens renders beautifully ...

Arie......I really like your GF1 B&W captures.........this one included. The photos have so much depth that they appear focus stacked and the conversions add to that.

Sometimes, I can't decide if I like the colour or b&w version best, so here are both...

    GH1 with Zeiss CY 85mm f/1.4

... and sometimes, when I really want to buy a new camera body or a new lens, I go out with what I have, and take some photos, and ask myself: would these photos have been radically better if I had a GH3DsX with supernanocoating on the shutter release and a 597.34 gigapixel 3D sensor with anti-reflex coating made from hen's teeth? They wouldn't of course. Sometimes, it's better to spend the money on food and other luxury

Re: Fun with 4/3rds cameras/ Image Thread

50 bucks are not enough !
About 03:00 p. m. , I knocked on the door of my beautiful neighbor. I already had to knock some more, the door was made of solid wood. She opened the door and there she stood in front of me, in all her feminine glory. Almost nothing covering her body, only a transparent cloth barely covered her nudity.
Casually she stood in the doorway, supporting herself with one arm from the door jamb and said: "Joe, I've already told you yesterday. 50 Bucks are not enough. I can not do that for only 50 Bucks. Give me 500 bucks or I will never ever say YES "
Sad and head down I turned around, as the door closed. 50 bucks in my pocket. But damned, its not so easy to get her old Cadillac Eldorado Brougham and 500 Bucks are way to much. Though she has a garage full of cars .... Well, that's the way it goes. Some have little sympathy for the youth I think i have to ask Dad .... good idea ! Perhaps he can satisfy her demand
