Rafael,
they really enjoy the eye :)

Colors, sharpness, maybe on 2nd I would use longer focal or faster lens.

I went to the Big Island this weekend for a wedding and really wrestled with what camera to bring. I've been contemplating moving out of the m4/3 format and always hesitate.

I decided on the E-P3, the 45/1.8, and the PL25.

The day after the wedding, I traveled up the Kohala Coast to the Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site. Constructed by King Kamehameha as an offering to the war god Kukailimoku, it prefaced his unification of the Hawaiian Islands. It, as all heiau, is considered sacred. Walking on the heiau is not allowed due to human impact concerns.

It is hard to capture something this massive and do it justice.

Here are a few shots all with the PL25.

I think I'll be hanging on for a while longer.

I drive past this tree on old K10 highway in NE KS several times weekly. The day I shot this the sun was hitting it just right, so I pulled over and grabbed the shot. I did a little processing in PSE.

so I pulled over and grabbed the shot
That is nice with small cameras, we have them all the time with us :p
You must have eye to color :)

I ask myself, if I do not show too much photos, let me know if you think so.
One of reason is - I show lens, aperture, so some people may have idea, what can they expect, especially new members, or people who do not have particular lens.

OK, last portraits for now, I promise ;)

Jerry, I enjoy your work! I generally use an Olympus OM 50mm f1.4 (with adapter to my Lumix G3) for my portraits, but have really been considering that 45mm lens. Your portraits really show off the quality of that lens. Thanks for your posts!

Hooray!

I just received the 25mm Summilux for the GX-1 I received last week.

Initial set of shots, and I must say that I do like the lens!

The first one, the Tortie, is Sophie, a.k.a. Trouble, that was rescued as a few day old kitten after Charley blew through Florida. Very reluctant model, but that is, after all, her job.

The second model is Sara, who we rescued in our neighborhood. Another reluctant model.

The third model is my wife, EJ. Another very reluctant model.

I emphasize "reluctant". I really appreciate the Leica M9. But, with the manual focus, the only models that are patient, are well ... trees and inanimate objects.

My live models get very impatient. They move, in they case of Sophie and Sara, or the roll their eyes, in the case of EJ.

Finally, with the GX1 and great fast lenses, I can finally sneak up on them!

Thank you,
