Wolfgang Rabe (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tachar/)
notified me that he has made about 1/2 dozen of these now.

If anyone is interested.

I have bought stuff (mostly esoteric lenses) from Wolfgang over the years and that is pretty much the connection.

I am not associated with him, etc, etc.

He's selling one on Ebay (fast lens included :D) -> Link

Looks like fun, and the lens is well proportioned to the G1.

The Angenieux Ultrafast 0.95/25mm for Panasonic DMC G1 does not cover the sensor completely. I wonder whether the Schneider with the same spec does.

BTW, are these 16mm C lenses or 8mm?

Wolfgang has some examples from the Schneider in the same Flickr stream, and it looks as though it doesn't cover the whole frame either.

16mm.

They cover a whole lot more than what a 16mm cine frame requires! For cine work, only a small central area of the image projected is used.

For adequate coverage (not illumination) of the G1 sensor, one would need a lens made for 35mm or at least (depending on the focal length and the maker) a super 16 lens.

These are normally big and ugly but superb performers. If someone is looking for "form factors" and how it would dress the camera, these (generally) would not make the cut.
