Thank you Kit and Rayyan. There are so many fascinating people to take photos of, so the trick is just having a lens that focuses, preferably fast ;)

This is how an AF camera/lens combination should work: I lift the camera, the moment she's in the middle of the viewfinder (this is a crop), I push the shutter release all the way through and she's sharp in focus. When she's visible in the VF again, only a couple of seconds after I first saw her in the middle of the traffic, she's not, but covered by two cars, image gone forever. While many current camera/lens combos can do this, it's a first for me. Totally, 100% reliable.
