grip portion fits the fingers
Card access, articulating LCD and battery access completely un-obstructed
grooved to fit Arca and RRS style clamps;
finely finished, CNC machined, black anodized, with captive screw

First time I see the "portrait" orientation on the right...great for connectivity when mounted in that position.

it is the first time i have seen it as well; having done it now, seems like it should have been that way all along. avoiding interference with the card access door is an issue that had to be resolved (compare that to the fuss trying to avoid the USB port doors with sliding bases, etc.), and the L-plate adds bulk in the grip zone (the palm) but seems to work quite well
