Yes
I tried a F1.3 infinity shhot.
Very soft , but I think the focus is ok.

I don't know... To me it seems as it doesn't focus to infinity looking at this image. For example, to the left you have the terrace with a fence (if fence is the correct term, maybe it is a wall?) on it. It seems to be sharper somewhere in the middle of the image than in the distant parts, and that with pretty much similar distances between the fence and the middle of the sensor.

To me that would be no problem as I wouldn't use a lens´like this for landscapes wide open. If distant stuff can be reasonbly sharp with the lens stopped down it is good enough.
