Brain, IMHO, your landscape shots in color are splendid (or is it gobsmackingly good?).

Thanks Vivek, but now I'm confused aren't we in the B&W thread?

Or do you mean my toning of the B&W shots above?

    Cheers

    Brain,

The lush greens of English country side and what you do to capture them.

They work best in color. Only my opinion, ofcourse.

It's true! I use Silver Effex. Do i need to sign up for a twelve step program? I've done B & W in Lightroom, Camera Raw, CS4 and Lightzone also. Silver Effex seems to provide the most control. Cheers.

I haven't posted in a while, but I'm hoping the GF1 will get me out shooting again. Here's a quick grab during the commute to work this morning. Shot from the hip. Converted in Silver Efex.

Thank you. I go in quite early in the morning to avoid the crowded trains. But even so, they can still get quite crowded even at that time.

On the Anglo-Franco side, it's the "Siege of Sevastopol". Did they have any info on the photographer/equipment? 1854 - probably wasn't an M9. Cheers.

Wow, well done, just caught the thick of it there Keith. Perhaps under your name it should read "Most Senior Member" rather than just "Subscriber Member"

So if it wasn't an M9 or Speed Graphic, what "gear" did you use?

Re: Black & White pics, show yours !!!

Gentlemen - thank you for your kind words

I took this with my own hands with the G1 and the kit zoom. I had an excellent vantage point. Stay tuned to the G1 with 14-45 thread for a color one which I am working on now. Lots of blood.
It is taken at the wonderful "Panorama" building in Sevastopol, where you are in a viewing theater similar to a planetarium with a 360 degree view of the battle. It's a mix of artists rendering and 3D props, which makes the photo look like it was taken live at the battle. Fortunately photography is allowed and encouraged.

A few more recent B&W's. The first two are Toronto. The second two are from Quebec City.

A play on words and a compliment. Some images "work" others don't - these do of course. I'm also a sucker for well presented frames and the "floating" effect is most pleasing.

You're right, in the basic version, there's only the 2 monochrome conversions, but the UK rep has an e-shop with a very interesting downloadable e-book (really VERY good) and two sets of extra tastes for sale.

Irrespective of obvious details that date this as current, this image has a 1960's feel for me (when the future looked bright and air travel was still very special). The VIGO logo helps (makes me think "vigour"). I love the way the sun glints off the airplane and highlights the elegant stance of the woman.

Thank you Keith. The lens is wonderful and the G1 is very helpful when shooting into very bright light as it drops down in the viewfinder quite nicely.

My pleasure, Matt. I usually just carry a small bag with the G1+Kit Lens and the 105mm Nikkor with pre-mounted adapters for quick changes. The 210mm equivalent focal length and f/2.5 maximum aperture (well usable by the way) is the perfect complement for this little camera.

Hmm, interesting interpretation. This is part of the satisfaction of exhibiting one's work of course, seeing what others see and you didn't. Thanks John.

It would "fit" better by cropping it a little, heh, heh. In my mind I'd cut off the building at the base of the image and clone out the street lamps.
Personally I think the exposure's spot on; you must have an intelligent self-correcting GF1.

Drop me a line when you come back in! I like this image and the way you've presented it.

This one entitled "OK, So whose fault was it then?" was taken some thirty years ago not far from where you docked properly!:
