Great images here in mono, love the portraits and scenics, all well done, have to use this unobtrusive little camera more...here is another mono conversion I just did this a.m.

Hi Don,
Your B&W image is really powerful! Nice composition as well! :)

Don, this one and your recent photos in the "fun with" thread (Bodega Bay and Fort Bragg Ca), are very much to my taste. Lovely.

Don (Streetshooter), I REALLY enjoy your photos, in part, perhaps, because it's a photographic genre that I am neither comfortable with, nor good at. Regardless, your eye for interesting subjects and juxtapositions, and your sense of composition are superb. Your website should be an eye-opener for those who moan about the shortcomings of the E-P1 for this type of work.

John - many thanks for your kind comments. I guess that is what these little cameras are all about....so small, one can always have them with you. The more I use this little gem, the more I like it. Good light is a big help too like in this sunrise Ft Bragg beach scene. I am still thinking about picking up a G1 also, but was kind of waiting to see what Olympus would do next. I would love for someone to come out with a 4/3 format sports camera. That tied to these tiny sharp lenses would be great. Time will tell. I certainly enjoy not having to carry around my big Canon gear all the time, and this is far less intimidating to any subjects also. Thanks again, will keep checking back to see all the fine portraiture etc, something I do not shoot but enjoy very much. Don

Panasonic G1, 85mm f/1.5 Canon RF lens, 1/125 & F/1.5 @ ISO 1600 (I think)

Nothing special about this except that I liked the way the edge light picked out Brett's striking profile...

...okay, that and that I was getting tired of reading all the bloviation on the M9 image thread about the "M look"... there are some excellent b&w images in that thread, but at web size the mystical qualities they're all talking about are purely in the eye of the beholder, and I don't think they look any more "rich" or "deep" or "rounded" or whatever than many of the images posted in this thread!

Decisive momentum (no reference to the new member) comes at a premium.:)

In my case, everything is a lucky grab since it is done with a 5 Euro Computar-TV lens and I have not "upgraded" my firmware for faster focusing..

Shake reduc wouldn't do much for motion blur though..
Yes, "subject stabilization" is obviously the next frontier for photo technology.

It might work something like a Taser, shooting out electrodes that would paralyze the subject long enough to produce a good picture...
