Love the tone,the "player's",reflection & Lawyer's Name!:)
M5-Guy: +1. I must of missed this. Division of labor. Well seen.

Matt, Yummy Ektar! Love those wine glasses.
M5-Guy, Welcome and what a great first post.
Cindy: Thank you. Film really gives that image a certain quality.

Fisherman on the Wolf River at Kesheena Falls, Wisconsin
Opening the dam between the mill pond and the Dundee Mill
M4-P, BW400CN
cindy: Great photos! I like the first two. This last one really intrigues me. The tonality and the geometry in the composition are very cool. I take it this wheel opens the floodgates? I'm adding that film to my list.

Scooter In The Grass, April, 2010

The M4-P with my CV 21/4, ShurFine400, scanned at Walgreens, converted to B&W in LightZone.
Mom At Her Desk, April, 2010

M4-P, 35/3.5 Summaron, ShurFine400, Walgreens, LZ PP.
Maggie: Excellent shots of Scooter and mom. "Now buzz off!". The only film link when I google ShurFine 400 is one of your posts? Did you make that film up? Also, Mom's got a nice laptop.

Cheers, Matt

Maggie, Scooter rocks! I have a soft-spot for the feline companion.

Here is one from a Santeria ceremony I attended in the villiage of Chivirico in Cuba:

Leica M7, Elmarit-M 21mm f/2.8 Asph
Neopan 1600 rated EI 1000 and processed in Xtol (1:1)
1/8 sec, f/2.8

Thanks, Matt! Both mom and Scooter occasionally get exasperated with my documentation of them. Oh well, nobody becomes a reporter to be popular! :ROTFL:

No, I didn't make it up! Sam included five rolls of the stuff with the M4-P I bought from him. It's a house brand of a supermarket chain in the Western USA. It's made in Japan, so I'm guessing it's re-branded Fujicolor or something.

Oh, and mom's laptop? That's my old MacBook Pro! Nice for a desk, but a lousy traveling companion; it's just too big and heavy. I've got a big iMac now, since responsibilities keep me practically housebound now.

Thanks!! I think she rocks, too! She's a very sweet and complex little furball.

That is one seriously AWESOME photo, too!!! WOW! Everything about it is really top notch- the moment, the tones the geometry; nailed!

Here's a few more from the M4-P/Summaron combo, usual processing/film combo:

Jeff, You couldn't come up with anything that lovely with digital.
Maggie, I know how hard it can be to get cooperation from the "family". Mine get awfully impatient with me and my camera. You are getting some really nice shots with the new camera.
Matt, I like the BW400CN because Walgreens can develop it. It seems to have a lot of lattitude in the tones, but not a real rich black. Walgreens have just raised their price for developing a roll from $2.19 to 3.23 ;-) Now that I have my scanner situation settled, I need to start developing my own black and white.

Thanks, I think I was using XP2 at ISO 250 (I'm not too good at this filing info yet)
I prefer Kodak BW400CN though. The grain seems tighter than XP2 imo, & still has great tones.

Thank you!

The film, so far, is the infamous ;) "ShurFine 400" color negative film, that I suspect is re-branded Fujicolor or whatever Fuji's "bargain" stock is.

I just love that little Leica lens:
Maggie: More nice images (and some Leica porn!). I like the DOf in the tomato still life. That lens is very cool. The Walgreen's processing (I'm assuming) is kinder to darker images, like the tomatoes and the camera. I'm not being critical (I know that its your best processing option), just noting it. Cheers, Matt.

Thanks, Matt! Yeah, the darker shots do tend to look better, but part of that is probably also to do with the wild DR and contrast in the bright daylight shots, too.

Oh, and the shot of the M4-P was done with my M8 and 90/2.8 Tele-Elmarit.
