I'm working on a collection called "Reflecting on Decay", these 2 are from my first roll of Ektar 100

Nice shots -- gotta love the Ektar. I shot some 135 over the weekend.

Matt, I like the whites in the second one, and the clouds are just about right in it, too. I say that, even though the whites are blown here and there (so what?). So, that's my vote.

They're all good, but I especially love the atmosphere in these two. The aerial perspective of the last one is really something. I bet it looks really great in print.

I shot up some Ektar in my Contax RX + 28mm Distagon this weekend. I really like this equipment combo. The RX is really a joy to shoot, and the meter is sooooo good. Never once changed lenses.

Had some Efke 100 loaded in my M2, but never pulled it out of the bag (I found it hard to switch between color and B&W thinking).

Mike, nice shots, and interesting comment about thinking in color vs B&W.

    Pentax Super Program
    Vivatar 28mm f/2
    Fuji Acros
    Xtol 1:1

This one I decided to go a with a shorter Dynamic Range, otherwise the walkers blended in too much....

Love it. Nice exposure under pretty tough conditions, looks like. Maybe it's bourgeois of me, but I would prefer the horizon straight.

Thanks. I've definitely shot both color and B&W during one "shoot". But it was always "serial". I guess I'd never really carried two film cameras, one with B&W and one with color, such that I could switch on a whim. Though I could switch, since I was carrying the Contax with color, I was cognizant of walking right past things I'd have shot in B&W. There was this feeling that I'd drag myself away from my mental state to switch film modes, and then do it again later in the same session. Seemed like it would be a lot of work . Maybe that's just me.

Interesting observation. Thinking back, I often carry several 'blad film mags loaded with both B & W and color but rarely switch.

    NO Filters, (Excl UV),
I did shorten the darker to mid-tone DR a bit to boost the contrast without blowouts in the highlights.

It is a nice lens,, and not under $100... But, a range in the $45-65 is a better price, it may need the IRIS and return spring worked on to get the snappiness back.

OK, OK, so here is what i got turning around on the spot. This is the bourgeois version; horizon straightened (at least the tower)

Again, really nice range of tones. And a straight horizon to keep me on-balance .

    Scott, Thank you.
I really like all three photos, but the Mamiya 7 is my favorite. ...Wonder why? Seriously, I like the steam rising from the street. All have beautiful tones.

Mike, Take the tour, No. I'd rather photograph.

Michael, Beautiful photo of your niece.

Just got my first roll of FP4 back from the lab. What a great film! Just the kind of film that makes me take more photos... on film

I think that this has become my favorite photography thread. Even the "low tech" Holga frames convey that "something" that images created with a bazillion mega pixel back with hours of post processing often lack.

Steve, 2, 4 and 5 are my favorites...really nice set. Like the humor.

Scott, Nice! 2 is my favorite. I like your POV.
