First shots with my new old GR1V. Developed in the Pharmacy around the corner, low resolution scans.

It's alive! Pentax 645NII... first roll hanging to dry! More when I scan them.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

This is the first roll of film I've developed in 25 years, so I'm delighted that *anything* came out.
    Pentax 645NII, 120/4 Macro, 30 seconds at f/22. Ilford FP4

Here's one with the 80-160/4.5 FA at 160, f/8. Through a plate glass window. My pics at f/4 looked soft. That must be due to the window glass, as this lens was sharp when mounted on a Canon 1DsII.

And one with the 35/3.5 FA Looks good..

I could get more detail with digital, but the light! The light! <swoon>

Today was just lens testing... this weekend I'll shoot a bunch more.

    Laters,

    Matt

One thing cool about film -- even a pocket camera provides quality equal to big, expensive cameras. Nice ones!

Just got my first roll of FP4 back from the lab. What a great film! Just the kind of film that makes me take more photos... on film

    Contax RX with 85mm f/1.4

This one makes me a little seasick, but I like it nonetheless . I'll be that 85/1.4 is fun to shoot on the RX.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

OK, I finally got out to burn some more film. This time Portra NC in the Contax RX. This is the first non-Ektar color film I've shot since returning to film. I ended up punching them up a bit, so I'll probably stick with Ektar from now on (unless I suddenly start shooting people, or something weird like that ).

More with the 645NII. Such a pleasure to have smooth shadows.

Dark hallway with 80-160/4.5 at about f/13.

And annoying the family on Saturday morning. Isn't that what new cameras are for?

Scott, Love the Ferris Wheel photo.

Matt, Nice tones. Beautiful photos from the Pentax.

Mike, Try the Portra 400 (new one, not NC or VC). It has a lot of latitude for over/under exposure and nice grain structure. I think the colors of these NC photos looks very good.

    Thanks for your comments

Yes, I'll have to try the new Portra "generic". I've had this box of NC in the fridge for a while now, and just thought I needed to give it a shot. I'll probably just keep it in there as a back-up.

Ive been out of it for a while. Lots of good stuff accumulated in here!

Finally found some time for developing and scanning. Gave the Tri-X/Rodinal (1+50) another chance - nothing else in the house. Early spring day with daughter and horse.

If your browser is color managed, this orange rose won't look too hideous.
Otherwise it is appears positively radioactive.
    Thank you Portra 160VC!

Your pictures confirm what Ive suspected for a long time, Steve; Italian cars are not about practical, dailt use.
Love them and regret selling the Bronica RF645.

Guess I can post a few. These are some scans of prints I've done recently. Still learning my way around a dark room. Shot on Neopan 400 with an Olympus OM4ti.

Blew the dust off my Rolleicord V today to check the frame spacing once more before sending it off for a fix. Seems ok all of a sudden.

Im however not going to keep on developing TriX in Rodinal, I think. Grain does not look good in skin tones.

This one is also TriX/Rodnial 1+50, but from the FM2n and a 35/1,4.

I was down by Ground Zero and took some construction shots. There are a LOT of cranes down there!
    Pentax 645NII, 150/2.8 FA, Ilford FP4.
This one is of the cranes about 50 stories up on the new tower.

    And a ground level shot:

Nice ones. I'd like to try some wet printing again (haven't done it since the 70's), but we just don't have the room. I develop my own 135 negs, but scanning is the only way I can print them :-).

I know what you mean about not having the space. The darkroom I'm using now closes fairly early so it's hard to get much time in on the weekdays and it's closed Sunday. I'm thinking of trying to make one in my apartment, but with only 200 square feet total it's going to be tough. Keeping an eye out for a decent used enlarger first.

Oh, gosh. I have no room to complain (so to speak) compared to you. We have a house, but I just can't figure out how to create a darkroom without making a real mess of our only darkroom-compatible bathroom. I also have so much various gear from various hobbies I wouldn't want to drive me wife right out of her mind with another collection of "stuff".

I really should try to find a place that rents darkroom time!

I was a little worried about losing Portra NC, but the new Portra looks pretty good so far.
