Scott, You are killing me with these fantastic photos. This one is my favorite among many wonderful shots. The Memorial Day photos are very special, too.

Longish pause again on the Norwegian side. Finally got around to do some developing and scanning.
These are far from great images, but the place fascinates me, so I keep trying. I pass this old house foundation on my hikes in the woods at least once a week. In the late 1800s a family used to live here, renting their little patch of land from the owning farmer the house father worked for. The place lies on top of a a steep climb from the community below. Now, everything´s gone, except for a couple of cellar walls - the woods taking over.

Finally got a Hassey. All of these on Efke 50 in Rodinal 1+50. Super film when you have enough light and/or don't mind short DoF. Sorry they're all of cars. Haven't had many opportunities to shoot.

Also tried some Fuji 160S. Kinda stunned by the sharpness of this film. Even at 100% I have a hard time seeing any grain.

Mike, Congratulations on the new camera. I especially like the framing on the Morgan shot with the guy looking at the car.

krb, I like these. My favorite is #1 with the woman looking into the mirror. #2 is really beautiful with the shiny metal. #3 has nice geometry going on.

Scott, Wow! I love how you really get into the details in your photos.

Leif, fantastic tonality from 35mm on these (I've become a medium format bigot). Tripod, or hand-held? I'll have to try Acros again! Did you do a standard, or stand development in the Rodinal?

    Contax 645?? I hate you.

Actually, before buying my Hassy 500c/m, I considered a Contax because I like my RX so much. I decided to go the square route, partially because I already have a 645 camera. The Contax' are still pretty dear, too, esp the lenses.

Nice shot, regardless of what camera it came out of. Great shadow detail. That Portra 400 looks to be an amazing fast color film (as you've said before). I have yet to get/shoot some.

A few from the Hassy this weekend. All on Tri-X @ 200, in Rodinal 1+50 for 10.5 minutes. Super-gentle agitation. Adjustments/toning in Aperture and Nik Silver Efex.

And one more from the same day. This on TMax 400 and using the Mamiya 50/4 shift because the focus ring on my 80mm broke.

Mike, Nice set. The old schwinn is my favorite. I really like the tones and the selective focus.
The Hassy is always calling to me. It was a hard decision between the Contax 645 and the Hassy. I'd have them both if I could afford it.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

I´m really getting over my fear for Rodinal/TriX. Being lighter on the agitation/inversion routine and using 1+50, it´s not that dangerous anymore.
Still more contrasty and grainy than with XTOL, but I like it as well.
These two are shot on Arista Premium (=TriX). Doggy slightly cropped.

Something strange happened. I also tried to answer Mike that the woods shots were handheld and Rodinal 1+50. And; that I liked the bike as well. But that disappeared after being double at first. Well ... :-)

I get the message, anyway .

I like Rodinal, even with Tri-X. I have to make everything work in it, since I only have that and Diafine (well, and Perceptol, which I have not had the nerve to mix up and use).

Sounds like you and I are in the same place with Rodinal -- I am learning to agitate very gently. I'm shooting a lot of medium format lately, and that's a little more forgiving, luckily.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

On the medium format note, here are a few I took while visiting my home region of central Kentucky back in May. These are all with the Fuji GA645Zi (Great, great camera and I highly recommend it. But notice how many verticals -- that's the "native" orientation.).

First three on Rollei Retro 80S, Rodinal stand 1hr. Last one is Delta 400 @ 200, with 20% reduction in development, Rodinal 1+50, 11 minutes.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

    Hi folks,
I've enjoyed seeing so many wonderful images made with something other than a Leica M9. Here are a few from Colorado. When I'm not shooting my digitals or my much-loved Nikon F6, I'm enjoying the acres of information found in the RZ67 MF frames.

Here are a few from this year so far:

The extreme upper reaches of Forest Canyon/Thompson River Headwaters, Rocky Mountain National Park (2011-TMAX100)

The Monarch of Colorado's Front Range, Longs Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park (2011-TMAX100)

Gold Hill, Colorado after last year's devastating fire (2011-Velvia)

Vintage Harley bling at a motorcycle gathering, Fort Collins, Colorado (2011-Portra 160VC)

    Hope you enjoy.

Great stuff, Ken. Love the look of these... very 60s feel here. I loved the old Minoltas. I had a couple of SRT 101s back in the early 70s. Great cameras.
