Love the clean lines, Peter. Impressive dynamic range in that one as well.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

Thanks, This was one of my last rolls to use up,

I really like Fuji Acros, but I find I am needing a 400 film more and more...
I have been also using Fuji Neopan 400, Nice Film, But, I think I going to use Ilford Delta 400 for a tad crisper grain..as my film... Both produce rich blacks and clean whites, with a long tonal range in between.

here are a few with Fuji Neopan 400

Thanks, all of you. That barn image is one where everything came together just right. Even the negative, straight out of the developing tank, looked good. I wish I had a higher hit rate!

Leif, The photo of your wife and daughter is beautiful.
Iver, I really like these three. It would be hard to pick a favorite, but Grandma is probably it. I have read your blog and looked at your TB project photos. You are doing meaningful work. Your subject is a sad one.

Peter, Interesting street photos. How does the G1 work for street? I had a Contax G2 for a while and loved the lenses and color rendering, but could not deal with losing control of my focusing.

This is why I got the G1, it has the footage scale on the focus wheel... even though I use MF, the camera still has to set the lens to what ever distance you set it to... there is a slight delay. but, it is still as fast as an AF DSLR as far getting a fast shoot off.

My biggest problem, was mis-judging where the VF was, and I would whip it up to eye, and miss it!. , I still would take a photo, even though I my eye was not centered on the VF. And I was shooting blind

I also went to online DOF Calculator to find a few combinations I could use...3 small 3/4" x 1" labels with these guides.

    f/11 at 3.4m = 7' to 25'
    f/16 at 3.4m = 6' to 55'
    f/16 at 5m = 5' to INF

But, f/11 at 3.4m is my norm. with the 45mm. 7' is like just over 2 arm lengths away....not far at all....

Thank you Leif and Cindy. I'm glad that you like my photos, also thank you for checking my blog. Appreciate all your comments about my work and thorough those comments I am inspired to do more documentary. The tuberculosis project is an ongoing project and to tell you guys honestly I have a long way to go in completing the said project. Earlier this morning I came to one of the many Barangay's here in my country where in case of TB is very rampant.

There are a lot of residents of all ages that are infected by the disease. I will immerse on that place for a week or more and I'm planning to do it next month. I need to make sure that my immune system is strong for me not to acquire the disease. The rate of TB is high in that community because the resident’s main source of living is through junks that they get from the garbage and coal making. The smoke is very thick that you can hardly breathe. Right now I am still having a headache due to the amount of smoke I inhaled. It was ages that I was able to visit that community again, so my resistance against the smoke has weakened a little. Will be posting photos soon.

PS: Leif I really love the portrait of your wife and daughter. It’s perfect!

More fog - this oneŽs of the full-day-mountain kind. WeŽve had an extremely wet summer.

The second shot is a reminder that we and the bluebells had a few nice days as well. Both Arista 400, FM2n and 2,8/55 Micro-Nikkor.

Thanks... I am really liking "Real City Street Photography"...the weekends are near impossible to find an "On-Street" parking space. This next 2 months are loaded with "Walk for Charity" events, and many street slots are blocked off.

So M-F are the days I can pick from, when I go out...

Very kewl shots, Leif. I actually used to live in that area... Near Puerto de Santa Maria. I was stationed in the military at the base in Rota, across the bay from Cadiz, and then stayed in Spain for a while after I was discharged. Love to see more of your shots from there!

Now, that is interesting - and those shots are good looking, Peter. I have a few rolls of Neopan 400 waiting in line for souping and had convinced myself IŽd do them in XTOL as well. Now I might want to rethink. I always find Rodinal a bit scary, especially when diluted 1+25. I might need to be brave.

By the way, thanks all for kind words! And John; those Tri-X shots are gorgeous!

A couple of attempts from the old town of Cadiz. I (well; we) have really gotten to love that place. Kind atmosphere, room for the old, the very young and everyone in between. Lloyd might recognize some of the streets
    Still the FM2n and the 55 Micro-Nikkor, Arista (Tri-X) 400 in XTOL 1+1

I did use 640 ISO, and soup for the 800 time and temp..

ALSO: Using Rodinal, usually means to shoot over expose by 2/3 to 1 stop normally, but with pushing, use the next higher ISO: REG for ISO 400, = 320 or 250 but use the 400 time.....Pushing for ISO 400 to 640, use the 800 time... Standard agitation (every 1m for 10s)

They were very slightly low contrast, but, good for scanning...
I also agitated every 2m for 10s by spinning.... so about 3 agitations total. I will go to 1m agitation next time around...(that will build up the contrast to my liking). But, I only have a few rolls left, and, I am now going to shoot Ilford Delta Pro 400 for the next 33/meters.. a little tighter grain..

A very special moment for me - the first time photographing a snake in the wild. This is a tiger snake which we nearly stepped over on a walk through a rural property on Kangaroo Island in South Australia. They have pretty strong venom.

The snake was actually jet black in real life. The reason it appears grey is probably reflective glare off the scales. I'd also have to mention that it was an overcast day in winter - when you would least expect to see a snake out in the open.

Captured with a Canon FTb and Vivitar 135mm lens, Fujicolor Superia 200 - pushed half a stop.
