    Leica R8 + Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f/2.8
    ISO 400 @ f/4 @ 1/90 (est.)
    Ilford Delta 400

So much attention on the Leica SL the past few days ...
While I was waiting for it to be released, I processed and scanned the last three rolls of film I'd shot and found a number of nice photos there. :-)

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

The hematology clinic is running late so as I sit waiting for my appointment I have been reviewing this thread from the start. There is some jaw-droppingly good stuff here (I apologise for waking up some old posters with a 'Like' for a photo posted years ago, but I can't fail to acknowledge the sheer quality when I see it!) and I have been especially interested to see the SWC photos as I have now acquired a 1968 version. I really loved the landscapes that srw (where did you go?) posted, along with Louis and others, but I am going to be perverse and try to do some portraits with it.

This one from srw might just be my favourite photograph on the whole site:

    Name: Spltrck1-XL.jpg
Views: 731
Size: 158.6 KB

I know I won't match that, but what an inspiration!

I can see that this will be better with slower films and lots of outdoor light.

    Leica R8 + Macro-Elmarit-R 60mm f/2.8
    Ilford Delta Pro 400

Processed in the Agfa Rondix 35 using my now-standard film methodology: HC-110 @ 1:50 from concentrate, temp 68°F, 8 minutes. Scanned with Nikon Coolscan V ED and VueScan. Imported and finished in Lightroom v6.3.

For the Rondix, I've taken to two seconds per turn for the first crank to end of roll, then one second per turn for the rest of the processing sequence. Seems to have worked very nicely for both Delta Pro 400 and ACROS 100.

    enjoy,

Nice results. I looked around a bit, but never uncovered what the trick was to avoid the surge marks. Care to share (or link?).

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

The trick was continuous rotation in a Rondinax or Rondix tank - it reduces streaking, and if any occur from the sprocket holes it should run along the unused edge of the film. I haven't found any other way of avoiding it. One shot usage is important too - I did mix a litre and got seven films before it failed, but some were blotchy.

chrism ... I'm presuming that dilute Rodinal for one hour is stand processing, rather than Rondinax with the motor ...? Nice results regardless.

I'm feeling the itch to shoot another roll of Rollei/Agfa SuperPan 200 now.
I really should get some better wetting agent than a drop of clear dishwashing soap, eh? ;-)

    Godfrey,
It's a semi-stand, with ten inversions at the start, and three at 30 minutes. Apart from that the tank stays untouched.

Just received a used Pentax 645 NII to shoot B&W film and as backup for my 645z. Shot an old roll of Acros I found in a drawer (5 yrs past exp date) and processed in R09 at 1:50.

"Scan" with the 645z - I like the data recording from the 645NII to the film.

Still piddling around with indoor shots trying to relearn shooting, film developing, scanning, and post processing film workflows that have been unused for a long time.

Pentax 645NII with 45-85 lens on outdated Acros 100 stock that I'm trying to use up along with even older R09 developer that looks like well aged Port wine. Nikon 9000 scans.

Re: More and more film fun with something other than a Leica M

A new swing for waterfront trail hikers. Also, a new fence constructed by the NYSDOT who are well entrenched inside the fenced property. City has tried for years to get them moved elsewhere, but to no avail. Site house vehicles, road salt, asphalt, oil, etc. that does not belong on prime waterfront property.

    Polaroid SX-70
Impossible Project "SX-70 Color Version 2" (beta and outdated)

Not a lot of time to shoot and process film of late, but I had the SX-70 with me yesterday, loaded with Impossible Project color film from the (discontinued) version 2 beta release. Version 3 is now in beta release ... and is far far better performing.

But that doesn't mean I can't play with the old stuff anyway. :-)

    enjoy,

I spent a little time in the driveway today. First shot illustrates what you can do with camera movements—see how the left side of the headlight is in focus, and so is the right side of the window on the house?

I'm now in the lull between having the basement torn out and the insurance company approving estimates for repairs, so a little chemical consolation is in order. After a couple of weeks I wasn't sure if I could remember how!
