They swam around by themselves ...
I prefer 'found compositions' when I'm working these things, I don't manipulate the subject other than in rendering.
btw: I have started a blog on posterous where I'll be posting my photos with a bit more context ... everyone is invited to go take a look and tell me how pretentious it is. ;-)

Nice to get a little bit of background for your photographs on the blog. Pretty clean layout too, is that their default or did you customize it? I just started my own photoblog at wordpress yesterday and it took a while to find a theme that I liked (http://trisberg.wordpress.com/). I added you to my blogroll

That's their default ... It was very simple and easy to set up, one of the reasons I found it appealing. I'll take a look at your blog next.
