Hi, picked up a schneider 80/4 today for cheap and was wondering if i should keep it and use it instead of the el nikkor 75/4 my school offers or if it is not much better I should just sell it and take the profit of $110 or so

Thanks

The 80mm Componon-S is a 6-element lens, while the 75mm EL-Nikkor is a 4-element lens that was offered as an economy model. Assuming you use good technique - the enlarger is properly aligned, the negative is held flat, focus is accurate, etc. - and assuming you have a good sample of each, the Componon-S is likely to be a substantially better performer.
