Sony NEX-7 for Infrared Photography

Lisa

After switching from a Nikon DSLR to a Sony NEX-7, I got a second one and had it converted for infrared photography. I was surprised by how much better it works than my old IR-converted DSLR! Because of the mechanics of how the Sony focusses, it focusses properly in IR, unlike my old DSLR (where it focusses for visible light, so in IR, where the focus is slightly different, you either need a larger depth of field or it's fuzzier). Some photos from my first outing with it, with the 18-55 kit lens, which I am pleasantly surprised by:

And a 100% crop from the second picture:

Is anyone else using an NEX camera for IR?

Where did you have the conversion done, if i may ask?
At lifepixel. I was extremely happy with their customer service; I had a few email exchanges with someone there before I had it done to make sure it was a good camera for it (the answer was yes, very) and got intelligent thorough responses from them.
