After switching from a Nikon DSLR to a Sony NEX-7, I got a second one and had it converted for infrared photography. I was surprised by how much better it works than my old IR-converted DSLR! Because of the mechanics of how the Sony focusses, it focusses properly in IR, unlike my old DSLR (where it focusses for visible light, so in IR, where the focus is slightly different, you either need a larger depth of field or it's fuzzier). Some photos from my first outing with it, with the 18-55 kit lens, which I am pleasantly surprised by:
