In 1DMK3 & 1DSMK3 does Live View work only with Canon lenses or it does too with others (Leica, Contax,Nikon, OM etc..)?

Yes, it works with anything you can mount on the front. I use Zeiss/Hasselblad V optics, and a Contax N24-85 Zoom.
This was shot using the Canon 1DsMKIII with a Zeiss 350/4FE using Live-View and 10X for critical focus.

Yea can tell it was shot with a canon purple fringing around the lens. Cheap crap. I'm only joking . Just could not resist:ROTFL::ROTFL::ROTFL:
You may be joking Guy, but I saw that also ... and don't know it it is the Canon or the Zeiss 350/4FE I just bought from Camera West.
I'm going to put the lens on the Nikon D3 and the DMR and test the lens again. I don't have a digital back for the 203FE, so I can't test it on that except with film.
The DMR should be perfect.
We'll boys and girls ... it isn't the Zeiss 350FE (Thank God.)
Here's the same basic shot with the near black lens shade butted up against hot white background using the Leica DMR this time ... ever so slight fringing if you mag the image to 100% ... but for all practical purposes, not there.
BTW, the fringing from the Canon shot above was corrected in PSCS3 fringing as much as possible before posting it. It was even more pronounced in the original.

Marc looks like a simple case of sensor bloom coming off the canon. Actually that is not good if it can't handle the background reflection off the seamless and the DMR can. Maybe a DR issue at the end of the day. The DMR does have more. Sorry to bring this up but reality it is good to know this and glad it is not the lens
BTW the camera porn is killing me . That is one sexy looking setup. I do love the bottom lighting , I use that a lot myself when shooting product.
It's a milk-glass plex mini-cove Guy ... smooth and hot.
What I forgot and left out on the second shot was the bottom light ... but it's irrelevant since my worry was the lens, not the puny DSLRs :ROTFL:
The Canon sensor is much better if you use an APO optic with it like the Leica R90AA.
But still no cigar.
When I first bought into the Canon hype that the "s" versions were "studio" grade cameras ... I had hoped to use it for commercial work and spare the expense of upgrading my Kodak back for the Contax 645.
That hope evaporated on the very first job shooting a high end Jewelry catalog. The specular highlights were loaded with fringing and blooming :wtf: ... and the diamonds looked like shyt. :banghead:
Back to the MF camera ... and all was well again. :clap:
So, I ended up full tilt on MF digital, and the Canon is relegated to shooting weddings.

I think this is what Irakaly was talking about with the smaller micron sensors and reason i was thinking the 9 microns do a better job with specular highlights and can hold them. Sounds like the case here you are talking about the Canon is the smaller microns. This is what leaves me wondering about the P30 and Aptus 65s is this very issue although high ISO's . I still think without a doubt that CCD sensors are better than CMOS and I always thought that. Maybe i'm wrong but seems exactly the case
Actually, I've shot product with a H3D/31 which has the microlenses and there were no issues. The only issue that can show up is some color shift if you do severe T/S on a view camera.
