I agree, the 5D is in my opinion a fantastic bargain at current prices. I've seen them go for around US$1000-1200 and I managed to get one without a charger or accessories for under $900. It is still an excellent picture maker and I don't really miss any of the latest features like video or live view.

Going from the smaller crop-size finder to the 5D full-frame sized finder is a great advantage. I can finally see the way I was used to with film cameras.

I'm also pleased with the image quality compared to a 450D/Rebel XSi. They have about the same file size but the 5D looks over all better. Less sharpening required (if any) and high ISO noise also seems to be less with the 5D.

I've been interested in shooting bands at clubs lately. How about this one taken with the 5D and 100/2, ISO 1600, 1/40th at F2.

many normally associate me with only landscape images however I've been know to do other things. While my first love will always be landscape I will (very) occasionally work with people. This was shot a couple years ago with a Canon 1DsII ISO 100 and 45mm lens.

In hindsight I could use a little more DOF, but I like how it directs to his soulful eyes.

Re: How about more and more fun with Canon...

Uwe - been gone for a week but if you were talking about my Portland Head Lighthouse image, thank you very much, but alas it did have some PS work done to enhance a bit of what was already there. Mostly levels and saturation changes, some burning and dodging also. The more I shoot the 5D2 the more I like what I see, same with the 24-105L, which I really had mixed feelings for when I first got it...Best, Don

Some images for the new food photography class I am teaching at PPSOP.com
These were a lot of fun to shoot. Canon 1DMKIV, 70-200mm + 20mm extension tube for the splash shots. 24-105mm for the wine.
