Will, these are really great. Keep taking your 5D out!

These are nowhere near as scenic, but today I stumbled across a good portion of a city block being demolished

    Hello,

Ashwin: Thought, I'd check out what's happening over here on the Dark Side. You could have shot the UW Women's Crew with a Leica? Nice work, this and the post, earlier.

    Will/Scott/Mark: Nice work!

I'll now go back to where i belong. Cheers, Matt

Wow, great shots Scott and Dave! Hmmm... I think I'll have to try and go whale watching soon. Fortunately, one can do that here in Norway too (sperm whales and orcas (yes, I know orcas aren't whales ), and if you're lucky you can see other species too).

A few from my beloved 35L:

Yes I completely agree with you. No one clicks pictures with canon these days. I click my pictures with Sony cybershot A900. This is the best camera ever made till date. Though it is costly but the features and result is really impressive.

Thank you Scott! I like yours too - especially the first and third! I have been in a 35L phase lately, but 50L is my overall favorite, I think.

Ron, great series from your garden! You're lucky to get so much wildlife so close to the house.

Yes, let's try and keep this thread alive. One from yesterday. The weather was awful so I didn't stay out long, which is a shame, because I think that it could have been a great photo opportunity. Dark clouds and nice light.

Sorry, I replaced the photo at Flickr which ruined the path to it. I thought that I could edit my original post with the new path, but it seems like it's not possible, so I had to create a new post. Here is the photo:

hello all, this is my first post, so I thought I'd introduce myself with a couple of recent photographs...
and yeah, not perfect, or retouched, just some basic color work on these....

both are shot with a 5dmkii and an adapted 55mm f1.8 smc takumar lens. Great images here though, in this thread.

Riley, nice catch on the falling hair, I think that lens would qualify as sharp!

    Thanks Scott and Helena.
I really am. I went nearly a year using the the E-P1 with mostly just legacy lenses and having autofocus on the 7D now feels like magic.

    Scott,
That silhouette shot is nice. Very cinematic.

Scott, great photos again. I really like #2 from your previous post (the bluish one with the large window and silhouette).

We'll be off to Scotland on Saturday (and be away for three weeks). I expect lots of photo opportunities.

A couple from this weekend with Canon 200/2.8LII:

    Oops, sorry about that!

Thanks! We visited in year 2000(?) and really enjoyed it. It was way before I got into photography though (I got my first DSLR in summer 2008), so I'll "see it with new eyes" now. Also, we'll concentrate on the islands this time.

    A quick outing with 35L.

Since I only had 35mm with me, when I saw this cute little fellow I had to try and fill the frame with something else. Fortunately it posed in front of this yellow square.

I should have focused on the tip of the red leaves instead of inside the flower. Still like it though, because of the light.

Re: How about more and more fun with Canon...

I spent the last three days in Las Vegas shooting stills and being in a music video (being the bass player) for Las Vegas singer and voiceover artist Von Fox. I shot his CD cover a couple of months ago and volunteered to go out and help with the video shoot. These were shot Sunday at dusk in the giant dirt lot between Mandalay Bay and the airport. It was 112 degrees out and both are completely natural light and shot with a 1DsMKIII and and 35L @f/2. The song is a lounge/jazz cover of Roy Orbison's Crying. The rented '69 Cad overheated after 30 minutes, needed to have the brakes pumped to stop and had expired tags - just to keep it interesting.
