I had a schneider super-angulon 28/2.8 for my 1Ds mk2 for many years.

Sharpness at 2.8 is not stellar but at 5.6 it is as good as the tse 24 II. The Super-angulon is overall a very nice lens but the one factor that I had a problem with is distorsion. It is quite visible when shooting straight lines in architecture and in the end this single factor made me part with mine.

Having said that, if you are shooting more landscapes or general photography, then this is a non-issue and a good choice.
