    Thanks Rich.

Very little PP was done here. It's funny, if I had had my K5 I would have zoomed in but this one is clearly a crop. X100 is a lovely camera and I can always crop in post. Almost thinking of selling my K5 ...

First time out in the country with the X100 - these were all way over exposed (my fault), recovered from raw using the Silkypix derived raw converter.

Ah well, it's all good practice!

Agreed, I love the way the ballet dancers are caught perfectly in the moment Joe... fabulous work.

I'm actually very excited by the potential with this little camera - I'm taking lots of personal family pictures which won't be posted online, but will be wonderful memories for us. This camera is so silent, so stealthy and so much fun... people have no option but to forget it's there

    Thanks for sharing

    More ballet.
A Nikon D3s and 70-200 around my shoulder and Fuji x100 around my neck.
The Fuji feels terribly slow in comparison, but it's nice to have for wide shots when needed.

I picked up an X100 at the end of last week. So far, I've been very pleased with the camera. It's exactly what I was looking for street shooting. Here are a few first shots.

Re: X100 images thread...let's get this party started....

Just back from a relaxing week in Whitby... the X100 was finding a balance with the E-P3 on this trip, surprisingly difficult to settle in because I love the 35mm perspective so much, and adding a zoom lens (rather than my usual favourite 20mm f1.7) to the Pen makes it more bulky while losing depth of field flexibility.

Anyhoo, here are some favourites with the X100.

    1/13s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso3200

    1/320s f/8.0 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/800s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/450s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/480s f/8.0 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/900s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/80s f/2.8 at 23.0mm iso500

    1/1000s f/4.0 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/320s f/4.0 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/850s f/2.8 at 23.0mm iso200

    1/800s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

I could quite happily live with the X100 as my only camera... it's a very natural way of seeing.

    Thanks for looking

Fantastic quality and variety of shots! Beautiful colours. I agree with you - starting to drool at the NEX-7 possibilities but - enough! Even my K5 is sitting idle as this fun little X100 steals the show.

Anyway my effort from this morning seems pretty feeble compared to your posting but what the heck, here's some anyway ...

Thanks JayCee, glad you like the shot.
    Brian - I think I prefer your X100 images too :-)

Sadly mine has to go to the Fuji hospital as I think I have the sticky aperture blade issue. I have had some random overexposure from the beginning but originally assumed it was 'user error'. Recently I can see by looking at the front of the lens that the aperture doesn't always stop down to the correct value. Fuji UK have replied to my email very quickly and are sending me a pre-paid package to return the camera for inspection.

This little camera is blowing my mind. Anyone using it in fashion photography? I know I'd be limited by the prime lens (and I couldn't change it) but I already use prime lenses a lot and I love that.

Maybe for some outdoor shooting it would be cool to avoid heavy cameras in some places that are hard to go to.

It's mine that may be a little poorly. Anyway, hope to have it fixed next week. the problem is intermittent enough that I still feel confident using it this weekend, hopefully.

Hah, didn't know you actually went for one. I think forced to use a prime, I learn more about the composition, using my feet, not being so lazy. The bad temptation I have seen in me at times though is cropping. Need to stop doing that though I don't do it all the time or such.

I don't have an X100 but I basically use my Pentax mostly on two primes- at a 32 mm equivalent focal and at a 105 mm equivalent focal. And going back to zooms, I have felt "dirty."

The issue with zooms is that it's so easy to forget it changes perspective. The shot really looks different once this sensibility "sinks in." I find for me the best way to use a zoom now is to think of predetermined "prime" focal lengths to shoot at and use it accordingly, though zooming on a particular situation can still be nice, but again it is a the price of changing perspective.

Re: X100 images thread...let's get this party started....

It's strange, I very rarely crop with m4/3rds - even though I use the 20mm f1.7 a lot. I'm just getting more into shooting people though with the X100, and sometimes didn't get close enough.

With practice, I expect to get in closer, and crop less.

The 35mm perspective is definitely where I want to be though.

    Cheers
