More ballet.
A Nikon D3s and 70-200 around my shoulder and Fuji x100 around my neck.
The Fuji feels terribly slow in comparison, but it's nice to have for wide shots when needed.

I picked up an X100 at the end of last week. So far, I've been very pleased with the camera. It's exactly what I was looking for street shooting. Here are a few first shots.

Just back from a relaxing week in Whitby... the X100 was finding a balance with the E-P3 on this trip, surprisingly difficult to settle in because I love the 35mm perspective so much, and adding a zoom lens (rather than my usual favourite 20mm f1.7) to the Pen makes it more bulky while losing depth of field flexibility.

Anyhoo, here are some favourites with the X100.

1/13s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso3200

1/320s f/8.0 at 23.0mm iso200

1/800s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

1/450s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

1/480s f/8.0 at 23.0mm iso200

1/900s f/5.6 at 23.0mm iso200

1/80s f/2.8 at 23.0mm iso500

1/1000s f/4.0 at 23.0mm iso200

1/320s f/4.0 at 23.0mm iso200

1/850s f/2.8 at 23.0mm iso200

I could quite happily live with the X100 as my only camera... it's a very natural way of seeing.

Thanks for looking

Fantastic quality and variety of shots! Beautiful colours. I agree with you - starting to drool at the NEX-7 possibilities but - enough! Even my K5 is sitting idle as this fun little X100 steals the show.

Anyway my effort from this morning seems pretty feeble compared to your posting but what the heck, here's some anyway ...

Brian, lovely images. I can't make up my mind as to whether I like your X100 or the EP-3 ones best.
Lee, last image is my favourite...superb.

Thanks JayCee, glad you like the shot.
Brian - I think I prefer your X100 images too :)

Sadly mine has to go to the Fuji hospital as I think I have the sticky aperture blade issue. I have had some random overexposure from the beginning but originally assumed it was 'user error'. Recently I can see by looking at the front of the lens that the aperture doesn't always stop down to the correct value. Fuji UK have replied to my email very quickly and are sending me a pre-paid package to return the camera for inspection.

This little camera is blowing my mind. Anyone using it in fashion photography? I know I'd be limited by the prime lens (and I couldn't change it) but I already use prime lenses a lot and I love that.

Maybe for some outdoor shooting it would be cool to avoid heavy cameras in some places that are hard to go to.
