Just back from a 4 day weekend riding the North Coast of Scotland on the bike. Had some great weather and the scenery was awesome as ever. Not many shots but here are a few that made the cut.....

    All X-E1, 18-55 f2.8/4

    Applecross Bay, Scotland.

East of Tongue, N. coast of Scotland.

Dunnet Head, most northern point on mainland Britain. If you look above the left hand chimney you can see the "Old Man of Hoy" sea stack rising above the Island of Hoy, part of the Orkney Isles.

Re: Fun with the Fuji X ___!

    Thanks a lot folks..

I was heading to the Delaware Gap. I meandered around. Ended up in Pike County, PA. Milford is a lovely town with quite a few architecturally interesting buildings.
    I was hungry and thirsty.

Found me a place. Always be aware of your surroundings, it is said.
There was a lottery going on on TV.

I walked in. Everyone looked up. At door height. They could not find anything. They looked down.

Hi. I said. Good natured hand waves. I parked myself on the stool at the bar. Just about could see what was on offer.
Hey there. Get you a drink?

What's happening, I asked. The lady looked down at me. You got a ticket? No. Want one? What? A ticket of course. What else. I stared at her..well below her neck.
Where you from? The guy next to me. I thought the better of it. Up State, I squeaked. PA? No. NY, I replied with confidence.

Well I did buy the lottery. Joined in the fun. I, too was shouting and waving my arms. I don't know why? But why not. I was on vacation. They were Lovely people. I almost thought I was at Hooters. I am an optimist.

    VERY nice Darr! ^^^
Glad to see you are still posting in this thread. Splitting the "fun with X" seems to be a backward step, we will end up with hardly any traffic which is why it was consolidated in the first place.

    Thank you Alan!
BTW, that is Boston, Georgia not Massachusetts.

I have been adding to both threads, but do see how it could cause some disorganization.

Re: Fun with the Fuji X ___!

My cats make great models when testing longer lenses. Jesse is a typical fussy cat and does not like to be bothered unless of course he decides he wants some attention. Joey on the other hand is an affectionate peacemaking kind of guy, and slow moving because of being three legged. I am currently renting the two different xf 56mm lenses, and the 90mm to see if I like them enough to have one of them. I have the Nikon 50mm F/1.2 that I have used with past Nikons and a Sony NEX and wanted to compare it with the xf 56mm APD. Not a lot to say yet except the copy of the 90mm I have has a noisy focusing motor. Anybody else experience this with a xf 90mm? I have constant focusing turned-off in my XP2, but it still makes noises, and that I do not like.

I photographed this cellist in concert with the Fuji XT 1 and the 100-400mm lens, it was taken at f/5.6 at 1/125 S, at 211 MM. Hand held at 3200 ISO. I was standing next to the back wall as far from the stage as is possible. The light was typical theatrical lighting, with a tungsten base over head light and magenta gels stage left and green gels stage right. I couldn't ask for worse lighting problems and actually have light. I have shot tons of musicians and this is not atypical. I was pleased with the quietness of the Fuji as this was a solo acoustic non microphone concert. I have used my Nikons for similar concerts and camera noise (shutter noise) is an issue. This was my first use of my Fuji and I am quite happy with the results.

Just acquired the 56mm APD during the latest sale. Could only find one used 56 APD, but without ND filter and priced very close to sale price, so "click" went the mouse at the B&H website while Neil Young sang: "Helpless, Helpless, Helpless," in the background. Planning on shooting some portraits now that I have this lens. Will be putting up my Nikon 50 f/1.2 and adapter ring now that I made the switch. Image pp in Topaz B&W. First took it into Silver Efex, but Topaz's platinum did a better job IMO. Hoping to use this beautiful camera somewhere else besides my backyard for a quick lens+bokeh test! Finding the time to hit the road has been difficult lately.

Hope all is well with everyone.

    ....and welcome to Denmark Rayyan!
Its the Gefion Fountain (a wonderfull piece).
    From the old Nordic Mythology:
Gefion was a Virgin, and all Virgins that dies as virgins will serve her.
The God Odin was settling down at Fyn(a rather small Island for a Nordic God), in Odense, and he send Gefion oversea to try to gather some more land for him. She came to Sweden and met King Gylfe, who promished her (after sleeping a long night with her), that what she could plow of land, in one day and one night, she could take along with her. So she went to Jotunheimen in Norway and slept with a Jätte (some supernatural creature) and gave birth to 4 very strong sons. Back she went to King Gylfe and there she turned her sons to 4 Oxes. So after one long day and one long night she had plowed Seeland out of Sweden.
So you have taken a picture of a picture of Gefion plowing with her sons....

    Thanks a lot folks...

Wonderful Mythology, Thorkil. Next time, we shall join you for coffee

The cruise took us to Estonia, St. Petersburg, Finland and back to Denmark. We had to contend with mostly showers and overcast skies throughout the trip. But it was marvelous.

    St. Petersburg..

    Stay well my friends.
