This was with the NEX-7 and same lens.

The NEX-7 is too light and also EVF is not ideal (the X-Pro1 EVF would be worse because of low refresh rate). The X-Pro1 OVF is very useful for this kind of photography.

I agree that the Xpro1 is great for aerials, no mirror slap=less vibrations. Here's a few from New England.

Are you shooting from a balloon? That is of course ideal.

I think the main benefit is also the OVF. This way I can see when a scene is entering the frame. In camera IS would be a major bonus.
