Leica M4-P, 90/2.8, Canon 50/1.8

Time to give some unused gear a new home.

Leica M4-P, serial #1,565,2xx. The camera is in good working order, with no mechanical or view/rangefinder defects, and is ready to shoot. It has some dings, dents and wear on the "black chrome" finish, which were there when I bought it in Aug. 2000. It had a complete CLA by Sherry Krauter in August 2001, which included new shutter curtains. It has worked perfectly for me ever since. I haven't used it much lately, as I have another film body and mostly shoot digital now. I've exercised the shutter every couple of months. Price: $850.00.

Canon Serenar 50/1.8 LTM (screw mount) lens, chrome. Serial #58,3xx. A little wear on the chrome finish of the control rings. Mechanics perfect. There is some haze inside which you may wish to have cleaned. No oil on diaphragm blades as best I can see. This lens has a look similar to the Leitz Summicrons of that era. I have a DR 'Cron, so I no longer need this lens. Focuses perfectly on my film bodies and my M8. Included is an original Canon lens hood (with case) which screws into the 40mm thread on the lens, and takes Series VI filters. Three old filters are included: yellow, orange and "daylight for type A film." You can also use 39mm filters with this hood, they do not center perfectly but stay flat and secure. That's how I used it on my M8 with an IR filter. Generic front cap, no rear cap, no LTM-M adapter. Price $175.00.

Leitz 90/2,8 Elmarit M-mount (the classic 1960s version). Serial #1,988,7xx. Purchased in 2001. This lens belonged to Sherry Krauter, she sold it to me after she found a black one which matched her camera. Glass and mechanics perfect, no oil on blades, a little dust inside. Sherry repaired a small strip of vulcanite near the rear of the lens, you won't notice it unless you look very hard. Includes Leica reversable lens hood, plastic front and rear caps. Focuses perfectly on both my film bodies, but not on my digital M8 due to the M8's much tighter tolerances. This lens should go to a film shooter or someone who is willing to have the lens adjusted for digital. $400.00.
