I noticed new copies of this lens in black paint with scalloped focus ring on eBay from Kurland and a Hongkong dealer for about $2500. Serial no. over 4,000,000 and they advertise as current version, but is not asph. Could Leica be repackaging left over glass parts for that lens?

Yeah I saw those, but I am not so ready to pay top dollars for the collectible level lens...

I was tempted though but I am hoping to get regular one that makes same images for less dollar...
