Graham. Love the max. I tried both the Max and the XY but ultimately bought the XY. I needed the gear movement and the extra shift for interior shots. I found that even though the Max is smaller, but in reality the weight difference is not that big and they are both tripod cameras.

The recent popularity of the Max due to its portability made the prices of the two models almost the same. So I picked up the badass big brother. he he
