The on-going rationalization of my lens collection continues apace! Up for sale is a very nice vintage Leica 50/2 Summicron in thread mount. This has got to be one of the cleanest collapsible 'crons I've ever handled!
PRICE: $425 Includes PayPal fees and insured shipping within the USA (other destinations additional at cost). Local pickup in NYC can also be arranged.
GLASS The glass is sparkling, having just come back from a CLA at the hands of Youxin Ye. With the exception of a very small nick on the rear element (visible inside the orange circle if you enlarge the last picture below), there aren't even any coating marks to speak of.
MECHANICS Focus is smooth and well damped. Aperture control is smooth and clicks nicely at all stops. Diaphragm blades show some wear, but no oil. The barrel collapses properly, and locks open firmly.
COSMETICS The chrome finish is really nice, with only faint usage marks on the focus ring and mount.
The lens comes with a vintage chrome-over-brass rear cap, and correct chrome Leica front cap (the front cap is a bit dinged up, but it fits nicely.)
Please don't hesitate to ask questions or make a reasonable offer.
