My .02...it's a GREAT lens, but there seems to be some copy variation. 2 of 3 copies I've used were soft wide open, but mine is excellent.

I'm sure it's coincidence that mine is a Minolta version, and the 2 softies were Sony.

I have heard it both ways, but more in favor of the Minolta version. I don't even think there is one used one on the planet at the moment<G>
