I used the App Store today, having found a really great app that was several dollars cheaper on the App Store. It's called iMDeduper, and while rarely needed, it is a great solution to a problem I found this morning.
iTunes showed two or even three copies of each song. I started to delete the extras manually, but soon gave up; there were about 1800 dupes. iMDeduper scans your computer and finds duplicate files based on criteria you can set (e.g., artist name, song title, album name, playing time), and provides a list of the duplicates, which you can delete all at once. $9.99: what's an hour or two of your time worth?
