LR3: copying develop settings

Quick question - what is the fastest way to copy develop settings of one photo to many others?

Every time I select a number of photos and then hit "paste develop settings" - it only pastes the settings to the FIRST image.

How can I get it to do all of them?

Thank you!

Nevermind - seems the "sync settings" is the trick ---

Though, not sure why the two options...?

Copy/Paste settings and Sync Settings are close relatives. The way they work is similar but not exactly the same.

- Copy settings takes the settings from the currently selected image into the clipboard. Paste settings allows you to apply them to one or many other images in Grid or Loupe mode at random until you once again do a Copy settings operation. In the Library module, you have to be in Grid mode to paste setting to multiple selected images.

- Sync Settings says: "take the settings of the first selected image and propagate them to the others currently selected."
