LR can't find images

Hello all, I moved a lot of folders to another harddrive in my computer, now LR says they are offline but will not give me the box asking to find them. Anyone know the answer to this, thanks Steve

I had the same problem on my laptop. I'd moved the pix to an external drive and tried to import them but LR wouldn't. (They'd originally been on my internal HD, and I had thumbnails, but couldn't open the full files.) What I did was to remove the photos from LR and then import them. I got the import dialog box and everything worked fine.

I'm sure there's a better solution, but this worked for me.

Steve:

I think you can right click the folder in the Library and then choose "Locate missing folder." From there, just navigate to where you put them and it will update the link.

See. I told you there must be a better solution.

thanks, I kept right clicking on the photos themselves not the folder. Just have to remember what folder you put them in on the other drive. It doesn't automatically go find them.

If you are moving photos into different folders, it may be easier to just use lightroom to move the photos. Select the photos and then right click the folder you want to move them to.
