Using the Canon 24mm or 17mm TS-E on the X2D

Are you referring to the 17mm or the 24mm? Thanks.

Using the Canon 24mm or 17mm TS-E on the X2D

Yes the adapter works fine - no complaints at all. Just set it to electronic shutter and you are good to go.

Using the Canon 24mm or 17mm TS-E on the X2D

I have the X2D with the Techart adapter and the Canon 50mm TS-E is working beautifully even fully shifted - little to no sharpness falloff or vignetting. I love how simple it is - no LCC, no need for a tech cam, adapter, expensive Rodenstock or other lenses, etc. For a wider FOV, I am...

    Hasselblad Composer Tool

Would love to see some examples of results- does this basically do frame averaging like in the Phase One IQ4 to reduce noise and for long exposures? Thank you.

Any third party lenses for X2D that provide the Noctilux look?

Yes the XCD 80mm is a beauty (and a beast)... Was looking for something smaller, lighter, wider, and less expensive. There are definitely tradeoffs with the ES, etc., but I'm ok with that. Thanks!

Any third party lenses for X2D that provide the Noctilux look?

Aside from an actual Leica 50 Noctilux, is anyone using any super fast 50s that would provide a similar look adapted on a medium format sensor like the X2D (I have the XCD 55mm but am looking for a more dreamy look)? I’m considering the Voigtlander 50mm 1.0 but would love to hear any...

Anyone using the HTS on the X2D for tilt/shift?

Thanks! Very helpful. I think it may make sense for me to try out the Canon 50mm first - I already have the Techart adapter and the package is much smaller and less expensive than the HTS/adapter/lens solution...

Anyone using the HTS on the X2D for tilt/shift?

Thanks. There's also the option of adapting a Canon 50mm TS-E (I have the Techart adapter), which would give you a similar FOV I think, unless you use the 0.8x Hasselblad adapter. I wonder if the HCD 28 would provide better optical quality and/or shifting ability than the Canon.

Anyone using the HTS on the X2D for tilt/shift?

Would love to hear people's experiences using this combination. I was thinking about it, although I'd need to get the 0.8x adapter to help offset some of the increased effective focal length you get from using the HTS 1.5x. I'd use either the 24mm or 28mm HCD (the 24mm is way more expensive but...

How useful is having a second body?

Exactly. It's pretty easy to get dust on that giant X2D sensor unfortunately....

How useful is having a second body?

For my use cases, I don't absolutely need a second body so perhaps I will save the money from selling the Q3 after all and wait and see what happens in 2025... I would go back and forth between the Q3 and my X2D with the 28P, and the differences in size and weight aren't that big, but I much...

    Old vs new.

I read somewhere that Phocus may be worse at maintaining highlights than LR, and it looks like it might be the case from your samples (looking at the highlights in the rocks), but it's hard to tell. What do you think?

How useful is having a second body?

Hi All. I have an X2D that I love with a bunch of XCD lenses (20-35, 25v, 28P, 45P, 55v, 90v, 120, and 135). I also have a Leica Q3, but to be honest I nearly always reach for the X2D. I am thinking about selling the Q3, and am wondering if it's worth picking up a second X2D body (I'll...

Which XCD lenses would you bring to Venice / Lake Como?

We must have been standing in the same spot - here's my version taken last month:
