Hi group. Looking for some suggestions of how to get hold of front and rear lens caps for large format lenses, Nikkor, Roddie, Schneider.

Are there any bespoke manufacturers, e.g. 3d printing?

If not, what are your solutions for protecting the front/rear glass?

Thanks, Alex.

I like to keep caps on everything, especially lenses, when not in use. My general preference is for slip-on caps, as long as they fit well. Over the years I've purchased a variety of Kaiser slip-on lens caps which are available in many different sizes, both common and uncommon. In addition to lenses, I've also used to them to cap round lens shades when they're attached to lenses.

You can find a list of sizes and product numbers on their U.S. and German websites below. Sizes range from 16 mm to 120 mm with several intermediate sizes.

I use the "K&F Concept" metal caps off Amazon for all front caps with threads. They sit firm (screwed on) so I know I can grab the lens quickly without the cap falling off (or staying in my hand, the lens flying..). As an added benefit, my Apo-Sironar-S 150 and my Fuji W 150 fit into the circular hole in the Linhof MT base, with these K&F caps on, allowing me to close the camera with the lens in place, yet covered with a cap.
