    Leitz Apo-Telyt 180mm

Jeff: I have owned all the Leica 180mm R lenses. In the end I settled for the 180mm APO Summicron and the 180mm f3.4 APO Telyt. I shot a comparison of the 180mm f2.8 APO versus the 180mm f3.4 APO and the 2.8 APO was slightly better, especially when used with the extenders, but there was very...

New Nikon Pro Body Coming Soon ?

I am not familiar with the D4. Can you dial down the to 8 mega pixels and still shoot NEF? I am shooting my kids, so I shoot raw so I have more room for exposure and colour balance error if I happen to get the perfect shot.

Leica 180/2.8 (2-Cam) or Nikon 180/2.8 (ED AIS)

I haven't used the Nikon, but have used all the Leica 180mm. The 2-cam 180mm was pretty big and didn't perform quite as well as the newer E67mm Leica. Doug Herr is the expert on these as he came from Nikon to Leica and is familiar with both. I suspect in pure image quality, even the older...

New Nikon Pro Body Coming Soon ?

I find the colour pretty decent on the D800E, though I use Capture One rather than Lightroom for the conversions. I haven't tuned the colour in Lightroom, but the stock Lightroom conversions are a bit garish. Speaking of new pro level cameras, I have found the file sizes of the D800E are...

    Nikon kit Stolen

Roger: We rented an apartment near there about ten years ago and I don't think you will have a problem as long as you don't leave anything at easy reach. Our Apartment was on Rue Cannettes, which was in an area with some pubs and I think the street ended at Sacre Coeur.

    ZM 18mm on M240?

Dave: Have you tried coding it as a WATE? Not sure which frame lines the WATE brings up, so if the Zeiss doesn't bring up the same frame lines you may not be able to code it as a WATE. From my experience, the WATE was the best of the Leica Wide angles at the time, though I have no experience...

    Milich WATE adapter on FF?

Those of us that had a WATE and the M8 much appreciated your effort. The Leica method of mounting a filter was pretty ugly and I also think prone to flare.

    Fun w/Digital M Images

Just going through some old images shot with the WATE and found this one from the GetDPI San Juan workshop. This was at 18mm and shot just after sunrise.

FS: Leica 16-18-21mm Tri-Elmar-M Wate and Finder

I am the original owner of this lens and the pictures don't do justice to the shape it is in. I am open to offers until the end of the weekend, then it goes onto eBay. Surprisingly in the past when I have listed lenses on eBay that have shown little interest here; they have sold for much more...

    WTB Leitz Oufro adapter

That one sold on eBay for $455. I had no idea they were that rare. Are they just being used as an extension tube or am I missing another use for them?

    WTB Leitz Oufro adapter

I have one, PM me if you want it. The model number on it is 16469Y and it is in very nice shape. edit: I just looked at the auction listing posted above and mine is identical and similar condition, but no box.

FS: Leica 16-18-21mm Tri-Elmar-M Wate and Finder

No, moving to a pretty basic M kit and that would be too exotic for me.

FS: Leica 16-18-21mm Tri-Elmar-M Wate and Finder

Jono: I will have to look at the hood again. I think it is metal and plastic, with the baffle portion plastic. edit: Jono was correct, it is an all metal hood. There were a couple bright spots on the corners, seen in the photos, but the the overall bright edge of the hood is just spectral...

    Custom In Camera Crops

There is an option in the D800e that gives you different crops, but not the 4x3.
