Re: More and more fun with M8 images

My new 75 lux arrived yesterday and I immediately took a few shots at my work station of my favorite test subject. This is Woody under a 40 watt desk lamp at f2 (or was it 1.8?). In this case, skin tones that appear a bit "plastic" is ok. I love having a lens that lets me get closer with the M8. I look forward to shooting some "real" subjects.

Great test subject. Enjoy the lens....I didn't realize how spoiled we were with the lenses available for the M8 until my Nikon diversion. It isn't only fast it is also the silky smooth focussing and build quality.

Seem to be stuck in this b&w approach with these bright yellow flowers. Too heavy?

Great image; I see what you mean, though. It needs some more translucency. Have you tried a few Alien Skin settings?

Unfortunately, I don't own any of the Nik plugins. Does this feel any better?

Yes maybe a touch darker in the dark area's Tim. Make it pop a little more

Thanks Guy. And I agree it could stand a little darkening in the non-bloom areas. I was being lazy this morning with my burning-in techniques and focussed on the flowers. I'll play with it some more and then post the result in my gallery so as not to clutter this thread with the same image endlessly.

Cheers!
Tim

Well now. This is one of those images that could be manipulated all over. It doesn't take long to make it into something very different. Gain something and lose something. But, FWIW, here's another take on it.

yes indeed, m8 provides unlimited possibilities for fun with images :)

Re: More and more fun with M8 images

Wow JAAPV, your Two Tress image strikes me. I don't know what it is, but I know I like it.

Irakly, your images always force me to step in and look around (if that makes any sense). I don't understand many of them, but they do cause me to look at them intently to see what I am missing. I think one of my favorite photos I saw you post somewhere was a retro (50's-60's) theme of a very attractive lady in front of a stove with a dog or something in the foreground.

Of the two, I like the second one best. For the sense of the light and wet so familiar at the shore.
