Can't get out an about today so shot this down the road. Still, this is a very sharp lens and I am really pleased with it. I think it will be fun to use, and I can't wait to get out with it.

I love the lighting of her face from the Macbook screen.
I made a life decision a few years ago that work wasn't worth getting ill for, so I stopped the 5am starts and home at 8pm, eating at 9-10pm and getting to bed at 1am.
Kudos to the lady that after such a day she still looks great

I see the sun in your hair Helen but it is obviously cold in Gotham City judging by the coat etc.
Caught with the 18/3.8 at f/3.8:
It is such a nice lens to use The crops that I posted are less than 5-10% of the full picture.
Here is the full picture with the crop roughly marked:
Two shots from last nights Seal show. 1st one 50 lux wide open, ISO 160. 2nd was the 75 Summarit at 2.5, ISO 640
Really, really great, Steve. The second one is almost unreal
I don't care what gear I have.

Thanks guys, I posted my whole experience in my blog just a few moments ago. Tons more pics, and the concert review as well! Thx!
I posted on these at DPReview but will reiterate here: Awesome
Yeah Steve, not bad
Hey guys! Thanks! Jono, yea I used Auto ISO set to 640 MAX and shot each lens wide open. Worked out great just as you said it would! Thanks for that advice BTW.
Great write up on the blog, Steve, and I enjoyed the slideshow there as well. Interesting that before you mentioned the lack of keepers from the Nikon, I was thinking how much better the M8 shots where (and I shoot Nikon too, so no bias here). Very impressive.
One more question, how did you handle white balance?
Sony A99, RX1, RX100
Hey Loyd. Believe it or not, the M8 was set on AWB and the color shots are all pretty much straight from ACR. I was amazed. Must of been the lighting!
After Steve's shots, which stopped the show, let's get back to our hum-drum down to earth stuff...
Steve, I really enjoyed your Seal concert photos and blog. Your photos do a great job conveying the energy and emotions you described experiencing. Thanks for sharing.
Jaap, your dog portrait is engaging and far from hum-drum.
Thanks Mark! Jaap, that IS an engaging Dog portrait. Very nice.
Thanks on behalf of Mark
I'm reporting you to the RSPCA . . .that dog has clearly been hoodwinked. I'd guess someone promised her/him extra supper on the basis of co-operation in a photo session.
I hope you came up with the goods, but that look suggests not!
(lovely photo though.)
Just this guy you know
Steve's shots made Seal's website:
Big congrats, Steve. Richly deserved recognition.
They really are excellent shots Steve, and very kind words he has written about you! Now you just need to get him to let you photograph his wife...
Some from my trip to my parents today.
