The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

Daniel: This series is terrific! This is Newcastle, New South Wales? The Australian tourist Bureau probably isn't paying for these. I especially liked the strong perspective in the second (and your friend peering out), and the flare and light in the third.

Cheers, Matt

Hi Matt,

It's Newcastle Street in Perth, WA :p but pretty dirty none the less. Thanks for your compliments :)

Another from Osman's fair city:

Istanbul Rug Maker
M9 35/1.4

Every time I think I might sell my M8 and buy another film M, or something else altogether, I take a few new shots with it (or see great ones like this) and am reminded that it's a really great camera! The detail and color in this is great!

A couple from a recent car buff get-together in Lafayette, CO. These were some that reminded me of the special nature of the M8 (and the Zeiss 25mm Biogon).

Wow! Mike, these really are terrific. Yep, you better hang on to that camera (and that magic lens!), bro.

Graham, that is an OUTSTANDING capture. Almost 3D. How did you process, if you don't mind my asking? I am in awe!
I ran this one through Capture One v5 and then applied a very slight amount of Topaz Adjust - Small Details filter in Photoshop. It looks horrible initially but you drop the effect down by 50% or more and then reduce the opacity of the layer. This is the first time I've tried it and I quite like it. That's it. Nothing else.

Err, oh yes, I also straightened it - that's why the image links broke on a couple of the notes here. I posted and then realized it was slightly drunk so replaced it with a more vertical version.

Graham: +1, +1. Beautiful photograph! I want to go to Istanbul. BTW, how did you manage to focus that 35mm f/1.4?

Cheers, Matt

The 35 'lux is a complete pebble. I don't know why people bother with it. :ROTFL:

On a more serious note,:thumbs: to DAG for calibrating my M9 and 'luxes. I've said it before but I'll repeat it again - getting my lenses and camera calibrated together was one of the best camera system investments I've ever made.

BTW: Thank you everyone for the very kind comments on the Istanbul images. You folks have raised the bar pretty high so I'm having to be VERY selective before picking photos I'm not ashamed to post amongst so many excellent shots here.

Graham: You too, my friend, have raised the bar higher for us all with your
photographs.

Mike: These are super. Brings back memories. You must be too young
to remember, Sandra Lee, Bobby Darin etc.

I loved the Thunderbirds. The car and the animated series.

Regards.
