The All New More and More Fun With Digital M Images

Re: More and more fun with M8 images

Guy,
That doesn't work for me (but thanks for your suggestion.) The yellow is too saturated and the lily petals just are smoother than your take. I do think that it improved the stamens a lot, so maybe I should have done some selective work on those.

Yea looking back on it , I may have overcooked it some. I liked the soft light just looked a touch flat though.

I agree that it looks a little flat, but when I tried to bring up the contrast, it looked too harsh. I started over and just did a local contrast adjustment, detail sharpening and then a little s-curve and left it at that. I think I should have added more contrast on the stamens. The flower in real life is kind of subtle. It is good to get others ideas. I never mind someone trying something on my photos.

Very nice shot Cindy. Contrast can be tricky sometimes. It doesn't take much to go just past the "limit" and it can feel too hot.

I took this shot in the fog this morning and my own tendency is to add punch with curves even though the actual scene was pretty flat even to the naked eye. But it's fun to make alternates!

First one, about five minutes before the storm hit today in NYC. Zeiss 25mm.

Then everyone took cover where they could. Zeiss 25mm again.

Waiting for the rain to subside. Both of these with the 85mm Summarex.

Two more from the Summarex.

Tim - the quality of the light in the fog image is really nice!

Mike - ty, some got drenched and some enjoyed playing in the water

Here are a few more from Yesterday. First one with the Zeiss 25mm and the rest with the 85mm Summarex.

I do like warm summer rain (especially if I have an E3 in my hand).
Lovely pictures Charlie.

That's a great womping rain CMB! And I second Cindy's comments on the light cjl.

One I can't decide about, sometimes helps to post it here.

Tim,
I like the subject a lot. I don't like the chain link fence in the background. I think it detracts from the subject. I would like to focus more on the old paint, rust and form of the bike.
